The General Motors Playwrights Theater
The General Motors Playwrights Theater (originally airing from 1991 to 1993 on the A&E Network) was an anthology television series that broadcast hour-long adaptations of contemporary romance, mystery, adventure, and social-realist stage plays. Legendary actress Lauren Bacall served as the host. The series spotlighted prominent American writers and featured performances from notable actors of the era, such as Patrick Dempsey, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Anthony Edwards
