The year is 1904, and the aristocratic Pringle family has just "failed upward" into total poverty. After Arthur Pringle loses the family fortune on a fleet of steam-powered underwater mail-carriages, he and his wife Michelle are forced to move their daughters—sophisticated 12-year-old Jamille and chaotic 8-year-old Nicki—from a manor to a cramped city tenement. While Arthur attempts to invent his way back to high society with ridiculous contraptions, Michelle secretly runs local betting rings to pay the rent. Between Jamille’s desperate attempts to stay "classy" and Nicki’s habit of out-gambling the local dockworkers, the Pringles are proving that you can lose your money and your monocle, but you can’t lose your nerve. In an era of rapid progress and even faster disasters, "Good Heavens!" is a slapstick celebration of a family trying to stay elegant while being completely broke.
