A young midwife arrives in an Anatolian village. She goes to her first birth; she tries not to show it, but she is very excited. To save time, she performs a series of checks, referring to the stages of birth in her book... At one point, her gaze falls on the woman's crotch. The baby's head is coming out. After a "successful" first birth, the young midwife's "modern" equipment becomes famous throughout the village. The village’s elderly midwife is annoyed by the presence of this young, city-dwelling midwife and a feud develops between them, until she discovers the secret of an underdeveloped child.
