Born in Tokyo in 1959. While studying oil painting at Musashino Art University, he joined the animation study group “Nazo no Gentodan” and began producing films. In 1980, he joined “Animation 80,” a group established to screen independently produced works. Since then, he has presented a new work with the group every year. His works have been shown at numerous events and exhibitions, including the Turin International Film Festival (Turin, Italy, 1986), the Shanghai Animation Festival (Shanghai, China, 1988), and “The Evolution of Animation” (O Museum, 1988). His distinctive artistic world combines elegance with grotesque elements, and he has explored a wide range of forms of expression, including 2D, 3D, and live-action animation.
