
Major General Ian Cardozo is a former Indian Army officer who became the first war-disabled officer in the Indian Army to command a battalion and a brigade. Due to war injury, he had to undergo amputation and had a wooden leg when he was promoted to brigadier in the year 1984. Cardozo also served as the President of the Rehabilitation Council of India from 2005 to 2011. Despite his dissection, the former Indian Army officer regularly participates in the Mumbai Marathon.
