A solar eclipse has brought people to the edge of madness. The Earth witnesses extreme brutality manifested by the need to make terrible sacrifices to an unknown evil. How could this have happened? Is this the wrath of God? Such is the view of a group of extremists who are quick to deal with those responsible. But who decides who is guilty and who is not? Vahid Vakilifar’s fourth film offers an intoxicating, visionary sci-fi which, in spite of the darkness consuming the world, believes in the power of light. Even the goriest images conceal at least a sliver of hope; they serve as a necessary ritual if we are to accept the demons that inhabit us all.
