Detective Jack Romero and anthropologist Andrea Spinell are to solve the case of ritual mutilations. Their investigation leads them to a tribe of cannibals on an island in the Pacific. There Dr. Fulci pursues to turn the natives into aboulic zombies. Buttgereit's media transfer touches the video revolution and high time of splatter aesthetics as well as cannibal- and zombie themes.
