DirectorsKent Chadwick, Max Bannah

1976
25 min

The National Trust Queensland commissioned Timber and Tin, the story of Queensland architecture, mainly in domestic buildings, from the days of the earliest settlers and of the materials from which they were built with emphasis on the use of timber and corrugated iron. The film illuminates forms, structures, and decorative details that characterize this type of regional architectural expression. It includes interviews with people who worked the materials and built the houses as well as those who grew up with them.
