Ah-Tsai, an umbrella mender and pot repairer, collides with Ah-Tau, a pedicab driver who takes him into his leaking room. Their comic deception grows into an improvised household as job seekers, debtors, and others with nowhere to stay gather under one roof. Turning poverty and insecure work into popular comedy, the film captures lives unsettled by industrialisation and rural-to-urban migration.
