Children of the River

DirectorLisa Takeba

Drama

Ryoka, a 19-year-old art student in Kochi, struggles with feelings of inferiority to her twin sister, Kaya. She moves away to live alone and begins a relationship with Gaku. She calls Kaya to tell her about Gaku, but Kaya dies in a car accident. Guilt-ridden Ryoka cannot bring herself to attend the funeral. Ryoka finds a love letter from Eito in Kaya’s belongings and decide to tell him the truth. Ryoka eventually starts dating Eito, with Gaku's understanding. However, she feels connected to Kaya by the river, which leads to Gaku’s departure. Eito leaves, too. Then, winter arrives in Kochi.
