When Tatum is sentenced to court-mandated community service, a high-strung family friend gives her the last job she ever wanted: leading a troop of misfit young girl scouts in pursuit of the prestigious Golden Cookie Badge. Convinced the program is failing to teach the girls any real-life skills, Tatum throws out the rulebook and launches her own unorthodox agenda to prepare them for adulthood. Along the way, she battles an obscene rival troop leader, falls for one of her scout’s older brothers, and tries to regain the trust of her father. In the process, she comes to care for her troop — and may just learn how to become a functioning adult herself.
