

Fall, Nantes. Hua Liu, a 60-year-old Chinese woman, is assisted by her daughter to obtain a long-stay visa and retire with her family, especially Paul (8), her grandson whom she has recently met.. A committed poet, she gives a clandestine reading in a Chinese restaurant. On that day, a man in a suit confiscates all her books. After picking up Paul from school, she is summoned by a mysterious office to retrieve "an important document."
