A powerful display of solidarity from women and members of the LGBTQ+ community who occupied Istiklal Caddesi, one of the most popular and lively streets in Istanbul, for International Women’s Day. Protesting has always been one of the most direct and effective means of vindicating struggles and denouncing injustices and abuse: many individual voices, silenced and unheard, become a single powerful collective voice. A transfeminist tide occupied the road from one end to the other. The video shows a banner with the words “Our life, our revolt, our struggle: feminism” held by the front rows of the crowd, which alludes to the length of the procession.
