Bárbara Martínez Álzaga arrives at the villa in her car at dusk. The guard greets her from the entrance booth. The villa is empty because her parents are on vacation. Hours later, the guard notices a fire in the mansion and frantically rushes to the scene. He finds Bárbara murdered and incinerated in her bed. He also discovers that the mansion's safe has been looted. Miguel, the Martínez Álzaga family's lawyer, takes charge of solving the enigmatic crime. The guard assures her that no one entered or left the villa before or after Bárbara, and asserts that the young woman arrived unaccompanied.
