The Venetian Giacomo Casanova (1725–1798) has been mistakenly portrayed in history as a monomaniacal womanizer. This documentary portrays him as an ideal protagonist of the Rococo period. He acted as a clergyman, lawyer, soldier, and financial advisor to the French king and met renowned figures of his time, such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Catherine the Great.
