Mariella, who is gravely ill, receives the unexpected visit of her youngest son, Gabriel, after seven years apart. The discomfort between them grows as they talk, revealing repressed feelings and unresolved arguments. Trapped by her prejudices, Mariella still struggles to accept Gabriel’s sexuality, and although she reveals that she will die soon, Gabriel cannot promise he will visit her again.
