Aline and Diogo, a married couple of doctors are going through a turbulent divorce process. Diogo learns that his brother has been murdered as a result of a generations-old feud between two rival families. The incident draws the couple closer together, and they set out on a trip to Diogo’s birthplace in the arid hinterlands of Pernambuco.
