
In one of the villages, opponents of the Soviet regime - the bai, the mullah and the disguised enemy - the chairman of the collective farm - decide to use the Muslim holiday of Ramadan in order to disrupt work in the cotton fields of the collective farm, and some farmers succumb to the mullah's agitation - they hold fast and cannot work in the field. The individual farmer Timur, the farm laborer, faithfully follows the laws of Ramadan. Timur is an honest and religious person, a hardworking worker who manages both for himself and manages to work both in the mosque and at the bai, dreams of making a pilgrimage to Mecca.
