Karumban, who has dedicated his life to the ritualistic art form of Theyyam had only one goal in his life. It was to become a Chinkam, the chieftain of the Ooru (the tribal village), like his father. But, Karumban could not achieve his goal. And, finally Karumban meets with a tragic end en route to Onkara. Karumban's daughter elopes with a deceitful young man from the city and later gets killed. Karumban's father who was the Chinkam gets rejected by his own companions and was compelled to breach all his tribal values. This had a devastating effect on Karumban's life. Karumban lived his entire life for Theyyam (God). But at a time when he needed the most, the Theyyam (God) fails to stand by him. The tribal language Markkodi is used in this film which does not have any script.
