After Alexander develops an obsession with chess, his solitary life is interrupted when he meets Roxie, a waitress at the local coffee shop. As the two grow closer, they navigate their differences in upbringing and priorities. Alexander's focus on the game of chess and Roxie's desire for more life experiences threaten to pull them apart.
