Green poems
Edward Dorn, Michael Myers, Holbrook Teter
Broadside with 15 short poems scattered across the page over a found zinc-plate print of Hitler shaking hands with a very tall man; each line set in a different typeface, including Dorn's own handwriting reproduced in linocut by Michael Myers. Produced for the 1974 Kent State Creative Arts Festival, "organized to dispel the notion that Kent State was a soulless institution that callously gunned down its student body ... As a faculty member, Dorn saw to it that [Holbrook] Teter and [Michael] Myers [of Zephyrus Image] were invited [with poets and other artists] ... to spend a week imbuing the campus with poetry and beauty on a federal bankroll. 'Green poems' was included in a Zephyrus Image produced portfolio of 9 broadsides (other sheets with poetry by Inés Brolaski, Devo, Jennifer Dunbar, Barbara Einzig, Samuel Fuller, Joanne Kyger, Joel Oppenheimer, and an additional poem by Dorn). The material was prepared by Teter and Myers in San Francisco and then printed in Ohio. Both the Dorn and Oppenheimer poems are known to have been printed in over-runs for further distribution.
