Unlocking the past
John Andrews, Deborah Towns
Unlocking the past
A companion to A Secondary Education for All. This Compendium is for those wanting to write the history of a Victorian government secondary school. It provides a brief outline of how to begin the task of research and useful tools for school historians. Motivated by the fact that the history of many schools could be lost, the authors have compiled a comprehensive list of government post-primary schools and identifies the name and status changes affecting each of them. Every endeavour was made to complete this listing, but some gaps exist and need to be filled. A comprehensive bibliography of published individual school histories and websites that include a school history adds to the Compendium¿s historical value to the Victorian community.
