Marchester Royal

1926

Lord Marchester is found dead in his library, shot by his brother Gerald's pistol. At the inquest it transpires that Gerald has been seen coming from the library soon after the hour of the crime. Gerald is arrested. Margaret Braye, Gerald's girlfriend, stumbles across the clue of the diamond necklace that puts Inspector Skarratt of Scotland Yard on the right scent: how a crime committed two years before is connected with the present one of Lord Marchester's death.
