The Donata Pizzi Collection seeks to promote awareness of the most important women artists in Italian photography. The collection includes works by over seventy women from different generations, active from the mid-1960s. The sudden changes and feminist protests of this time in fact encouraged the appearance of great numbers of women photographers, photojournalists and artists on the Italian cultural scene, which had hitherto been dominated by men.0The main themes emerging from these works are the centrality of the body and its transformations, the need to give voice to personal experience and everyday and family life, the relationship between private and collective memory: these fundamental topics weave a thread linking together images which otherwise belong to different times and genres, from photojournalism to experimental photography.00Exhibition: Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome, Italy (08.06-02.09.2018).
