Six jeunes garçons de dix à douze ans quittent l'école qui est vouée à la démolition. Leurs vacances d'été seront terriblement distrayantes alors qu'ils devront conjurer une force mauvaise enfouie dans leur petite ville. L'auteur a bien su instiller une atmosphère de peur et caractériser les jeunes héros malgré eux. Le troisième tiers nous a paru peu vraisemblable et les lecteurs de ##Ça♯# de Stephen King apprécieront cependant cette variation sur un thème proche.
