Gestochen scharf

Graphic art has been valued for centuries as a unique means of expression in the visual arts. The individual techniques and procedures developed over the years have been as varied as they have been multifarious and include manual engraving and mezzotint techniques as well as different etching processes. In other words, as multifaceted as the visual works that have been created. 'Gestochen scharf' (Pin Sharp) brings together all the main masters of the medium in 85 outstanding works, ranging over time from the beginning of the 15th century to the contemporary period. The history of graphic art is thus portrayed in exemplary fashion through a kaleidoscope of exceptional works of art.
