This book accompanies an exhibition featuring sculptures by Chinese-Australian artist Ah Xian held at the Queensland Art Gallery. The work includes a life-size cloisonné enamel body sculpture and busts in traditional lacquer-work and jade, together with an earlier group of porcelain busts. The centrepiece of the exhibition is 'Human human - lotus, cloisonné figure 1', a piece that won the inaugural National Sculpture Prize at the National Gallery of Australia.
